Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation

The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation is an independent, non-partisan Canadian charity established in 2001 as a living memorial to former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, created by his family, friends, and colleagues. In 2002, the Government of Canada endowed the Foundation with $125 million through the Advanced Research in the Humanities and Human Sciences Fund. The Foundation supports outstanding doctoral students, researchers, and public intellectuals in the humanities and social sciences by granting scholarships, awarding fellowships, and appointing mentors, encouraging critical reflection and action across four core themes: human rights and dignity, responsible citizenship, Canada's role in the world, and people and their natural environment.
