Jefferson Scholars Foundation

The Jefferson Scholars Foundation provides academic merit-based scholarship, fellowship, and professorship support to students and faculty at the University of Virginia (UVA). The Foundation awards academic merit-based scholarships to undergraduates that cover the full estimated cost of attending UVA for four years, along with graduate fellowships for PhD and MBA candidates and national fellows. The first Jefferson Scholars class matriculated in 1981, and the Foundation has since expanded its programs, including a major $100 million gift-funded Walentas Scholars Program launched in 2019.
