• Domestic Students - Monthly stipend €300 , abroad fees also funded.
• International Students - Monthly stipend €934 , additional supplements added.
• Doctoral Students - €1,450 per month, monthly research allowance.

Selection Process

The selection of scholarship recipients for a scholarship from the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation takes place in a multi-stage selection process.

Formal examination 

First, the formal requirements of the applications are checked.

Pre-selection by the scholarship foundation

The scholarship program's advisors then make a preliminary selection and propose funding. These proposals are confirmed in an online pre-selection process by the selection committee members (the so-called clearing process).

1. Applicants selected for the next stage of the clearing process will be forwarded for evaluation 
   by faculty advisors or subject - matter experts (doctoral candidates). Invitations to these meetings will be sent by the scholarship provider via email (generally between mid-November and mid-January). Applicants who do not receive a recommendation for funding will be notified of their rejection by email approximately three months after the application deadline. The interview report is crucial for the scholarship award. Please be available for an interview within this timeframe. Individual scheduling requests (e.g., due to vacation) cannot be accommodated. If you are currently abroad, please inform us in your application.

Selection committees

The final decision on awarding scholarships is made in two parallel committees.

• for doctoral candidates at the beginning of February
• for students at the beginning of March

       The committees are composed

• Confidential lecturers,
• current and former scholarship recipients (elected by committees),
• Full-time and honorary representatives of the foundation nominated by the board.

5. Binding decision

    The decisions of the two selection committees are binding. 

6. Information about the results
    Information on the results will be sent by email     after the online clearing or after completion of the  entire selection process.

7. Introductory Seminar

    All newly admitted scholarship recipients are
    invited to a mandatory introductory seminar.
