How to Apply
Register and log in to Deakin's Scholarship Application Portal, then select ‘Undergraduate Scholarship Application Tri/Sem 1 2027’ or ‘Postgraduate Scholarship Application Tri/Sem 1 2027’. If eligible, your application will be considered for this scholarship and any others you may be eligible for.
Numbers of this scholarship are limited; not all eligible applicants will receive one. If you're successful, you'll be notified via email; usually within four weeks of the application closing date. Unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.
Early round
Bachelor degree only - To be considered for an early round scholarship offer, you must submit your scholarship application and all supporting documents by 5pm on Thursday 3 December 2026, and ensure Deakin is listed in your VTAC course preferences.
Round one
Bachelor degree only - To be considered for a round one scholarship offer, you must submit your scholarship application and all supporting documents by 5pm on Wednesday 16 December 2026. You must also already have a course offer for a bachelor degree at Deakin in 2027, or receive an offer in the December course offer round (23 December 2026).
Re-offer round
Bachelor degree only - To be considered for any remaining scholarships, you must submit your scholarship application and all supporting documents by 5pm on Wednesday 20 January 2027, and have received an offer to study a bachelor degree at Deakin in 2027.
February round
Honours and postgraduate by coursework degrees only - To be considered for a February round scholarship offer, you must submit your scholarship application and all supporting documents by 5pm on Wednesday 3 February 2027, and have received an offer to study a honours or postgraduate by coursework degree at Deakin in 2027.

Required Documents
As part of the application process you will also be required to upload supporting documentation by the closing date listed above. These should be current, relevant and concise.
The documents required for this scholarship include:
- evidence of your previous WAM or GPA (if completed at another institution)
- evidence of any leadership activities or community service achievements
- evidence of any sporting or other achievements.
Make sure you choose the correct document type when you upload your documents – it will make a difference. If your documents are uploaded as the incorrect type they will not be considered when assessing your application. Remember, it's quality, not quantity, you need to provide.
Eligibility Criteria
Ensure you meet all criteria before submitting an application. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be:
- a domestic student
- commencing or currently enrolled at Deakin University in Trimester/Semester 1, 2027
- studying a bachelor or honours degree in a Commonwealth supported place (CSP), enrolled full time unless there are individual circumstances preventing this
OR
- studying a postgraduate by coursework degree, enrolled in at least two credit points per trimester.
You must be able to demonstrate one of the following:
- an ATAR of at least 85
- a Weighted Average Mark (WAM)/Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 80 in previous tertiary study
- leadership experience
- elite sports performance
- community service or volunteer activities
- excellence in the arts
- any other exceptional achievement.
Selection criteria
Consideration will be given to students experiencing financial or personal hardship.
Deakin alumni discount
If you are successful in receiving an offer for this scholarship and you are eligible for the Deakin alumni discount, you can only hold one. You will be asked to nominate which arrangement you would like to hold. If you do not make a nomination, the Deakin alumni discount will automatically be withdrawn.
Maintaining this scholarship
Continued eligibility is subject to maintaining a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65.
