Full Description

The Future Nurses and Midwives Scholarship Fund is designed to provide direct financial support to students of Nursing and Nursing Midwifery to help ease the financial burdens during compulsory professional experience placements. The Scholarship provides a one off payment of $5,000.

How to Apply

Application is made via the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal. Access to the portal is available between application opening and closing dates.

Applicants will be required to provide a personal statement of no more than 500 words addressing the below;

  • Demonstrate drive and commitment to establish a career in nursing or nursing and midwifery despite financial hardship or other personal difficulty.
  • How will this scholarship help you complete your practicum placement?

Selection Process

Eligible applications will be assessed by a Selection Committee. Selection will based on:

  • Demonstrated need and personal circumstances.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or New Zealand citizen;
  • be enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (Nursing, Nursing Midwifery or Nursing Studies);
  • have an academic progression status of GREEN;
  • be studying minimum of 30 credit points;
  • be able to provide evidence of financial hardship; and
  • not currently be in receipt of any major scholarships of more than $5000 per annum or an ECU Equity Scholarship.
