The University of Western Australia (UWA) is a public research university located in Crawley, a suburb of Perth. Founded in 1911, it is the oldest university in Western Australia and a member of the prestigious Group of Eight (Go8), a coalition of Australia's most research-intensive universities. UWA is also part of the international Matariki Network of Universities and is known for its strengths in mining and mineral engineering, agriculture, earth and marine sciences, and graduate employability.
