About University of Waterloo
The University of Waterloo is a public research university with its main campus in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Established on July 1, 1957 as the Waterloo College Associate Faculties to help train engineers and technicians for Canada's growing postwar economy, it formally separated and was incorporated as an independent university in 1959. Waterloo is world-renowned for operating the largest post-secondary co-operative education (co-op) program of its kind, with over 19,000 co-op students and thousands of employer partners. The university offers 100+ programs across six faculties, Arts, Engineering, Environment, Health, Mathematics, and Science, to more than 42,000 students, including around 30,000 international students from over 140 countries. Waterloo is consistently ranked Canada's most innovative university and is particularly renowned for computer science, engineering, and mathematics.
