Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) is a private university in Beppu, Ōita Prefecture, Japan, established in 2000 through a collaboration between Ōita Prefecture, Beppu City, and the Ritsumeikan Trust. APU has pursued a 1:1 ratio of domestic to international students since its founding, hosting students from 111 countries and regions — one of the most internationally diverse campuses in Japan. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs across its College of Asia Pacific Studies, College of International Management, and College of Sustainability and Tourism, with an AACSB-accredited MBA program taught entirely in English. APU is consistently ranked among Japan's top private universities.
