Geneva Graduate Institute
About Geneva Graduate Institute
The Geneva Graduate Institute (officially the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, or IHEID) is a postgraduate-only institution founded in 1927 by two senior League of Nations officials, making it the world's first graduate school dedicated solely to the study of international affairs. Located steps from the United Nations Office at Geneva and numerous other international organizations, the Institute specializes in international relations, international law, international economics, development studies, and political science. It enrolls around 1,000 graduate students from more than 100 countries, nearly 90% of whom are foreign-born, and is a Swiss government-accredited institution receiving subsidies from the Swiss Confederation and the Canton of Geneva.
