The University of Alabama offers generous scholarship opportunities for high-achieving students. Scholarships are awarded based on a range of factors, which may include academic achievement, standardized test scores, leadership, service, work experience and other accomplishments.

Automatic scholarships are included in the UA Undergraduate Application — no separate application is required. Competitive scholarships are evaluated based on the information provided in the admission application.

Deadlines:
- Spring 2027: Application and official test scores due by November 2, 2026
- Summer/Fall 2027: Application and official test scores due by December 4, 2026
Students who miss the priority deadline may still be considered for scholarships on a funds-available basis. Students may appeal for additional consideration due to extenuating circumstances via UA's Scholarship Policy.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a first-time, out-of-state or international freshman applicant
- Automatic scholarships require submission of official standardized test scores (ACT or SAT), self-reported scores must be followed by official score submission
- UA does not use super scores for scholarship purposes; only official composite/total scores from a single test date are accepted
- Students who do not submit test scores remain eligible only for competitive scholarships
- GPA considered through the end of junior year
- Competitive scholarships are awarded through holistic review of academics, honors, leadership, service, and life experience
